Orediggers toppled at home

The Oredigger wrestling team lost its contest at home on Saturday night 31-5 to Western State.

Ashton Krajnovich lost by decision in the 157 pound class, as did Robert Davis in the 165 pound group. Joshua Brown was defeated by decision in the 174 pound class, and Alexander MacKenzie was defeated by decision as well in the 285 pound group. Joshua Redman lost the 133 pound match by pin, and both Jacob Gerken (141 pound) and Justin Ray (149 pound) were bested by decision.

Mines did have two victories on the mat, coming from Paul Wilson, by decision, in the 197 pound class and Luis Gurule, by decision, in the 125 pound bout.

CSM wrestling will play hosts again in their next competition, taking on several teams at the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open at Lockridge Arena here in Golden. That competition begins at 10am on Saturday, February 1st.
